Continuous Learning and Moving Forward Together | Fuqing Wood Industry August Book Club
Spending any amount of time on reading will eventually pay off. Although life may be simple, our minds are rich; even when mired in difficulties, we can still look up at the stars.
Book Sharing
“The influence of a person is fleeting and weak, but the influence of a book is broad and profound.” — Pushkin
Loving to read and reading good books has long been a spiritual support for Fuqing people. Reading helps us accumulate knowledge and broaden our horizons; it accelerates our growth and propels us toward success. In this book club session, we shared two classic works: “Are You Fully Charged?” and “Empathy Management.”
Do you find yourself occasionally feeling unmotivated, unwilling to interact with others, and physically and mentally exhausted? It's time to recharge! The author, an executive at Gallup Consulting, conducted extensive research using vast resources at hand, combining the latest findings from business, psychology, and economics. He distilled three key factors to keep you energized and selected 21 strategies from thousands of options to help you recharge quickly. Open this book to activate your “fully charged” self and create a more fulfilling day for yourself and others!
Empathy is the ultimate secret of leadership. Excellent leaders manage their teams well because they understand how to communicate heart-to-heart and emotionally connect with their employees. They can perceive their employees' thoughts, needs, and desires, making their management warmer and more efficient. In this book, the author uses knowledge from leadership studies, psychology, behavioral science, emotional intelligence theory, and empathy principles to demonstrate how to achieve efficient management through empathy. By reading this book, you can better understand your employees' psychology, influence their mental and work states in a warm manner, break through the bottlenecks of inefficient management, and master highly effective management skills.
Learning Review
Reading and self-reflection are meant to improve oneself. Sanmao once said, “Many times, we think the books we've read have become fleeting clouds, no longer existing. But in fact, they reveal themselves in our cultivation.”
To encourage deep thinking and learning, participants were divided into groups to compete and evaluate each other.
Exchange and Competition
The freedom to read brings the freedom to choose. In this new era, we have countless channels to acquire and share knowledge. Faced with an ocean of information, continuous exchange and sharing are necessary to better integrate useful information. A thousand people will have a thousand perspectives; the same book can evoke different reflections in each person.
Meeting Summary
As the meeting drew to a close, General Manager Hu Yun summarized the theme: Continuous Learning and Moving Forward Together.
He encouraged everyone to take the initiative to learn, actively participate, avoid formalism, and engage in learning activities with heart and emotion. Let these activities resonate deeply, making learning enjoyable and fulfilling.
